MakeItWineRack&Roll

How cool are these?! I’ve melted records before to make bowls to hold knick-knacks before, but they are far more useful when you add alcohol into the mix! The process is the same as bowl making, pop them in the oven at about 250 degrees. It only takes about a minute for them to become soft and malleable.

From there, use a wine bottle, empty or full, and roll the record around it just past half way. Hold until it begins to cool and firm back up. If you’re unhappy with the shape, throw it right back in the oven and start the process over again.

The vinyl is really easy to drill through. Mark where you want your holes, a pencil or paint pen will do the trick. Use a small drill bit, and a little bit of pressure, and it will pop right through. Mount on the wall and voila! You now have the raddest wine rack in town!

I think I’m going to have to attempt making record coasters in the future! I think they’d go nicely in my bar. Are there any other cool vinyl projects I should be aware of?
