GeekChicFeatureHere’s my first finished garment for the fall! I used the Lisette Simplicity 1419, which is an adorable dress with a Peter Pan collar. I will start by saying, this is my new favorite dress and currently my favorite pattern. The instructions were clear and simple. If I hadn’t been so scatterbrained and easily distracted last weekend, I probably could have finished it in about two hours. Seriously a great, straight forward pattern

I cut a straight size 12, keeping in mind the ease. This thing fits like a glove! The fabric was a gift from my parents that I’ve been holding onto since last Christmas. Apparently I was just waiting for this pattern. The fabric has a little stretch to it too, which is probably why it fits so nicely.

The collar was originally going to be white, but it felt like too stark of a contrast. I had a little bit of peach fabric left from my Halloween costume from last year (I went as a Rockford Peach!). The peach just had a softer look to it… And more unique… It just feels like something I’d ogle on Modcloth! And isn’t that the end goal of sewing anyway? To fall in love with handmade garments! It’s nice to be excited to put on a dress šŸ˜€
